VNAH Conducts Regional Conferences on Rehabilitation National Action Plan

HANOI, April 24, 2015 - Key achievements occurring in the area of policy included the organization of a regional conference on the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) on Rehabilitation in Ho Chi Minh City, hosted in January this year.

More than 70 delegates from provincial departments of health, rehabilitation hospitals and rehabilitation departments of provincial general hospitals of 32 Southern and South Central provinces and persons with disabilities participated in the event. 

Participants were trained on the NAP Rehabilitation, the disability-related monitoring and evaluation indicators of the health sector. They were also provided with guidance on how to develop provincial rehabilitation plans. 

Following the success of the first regional conference on NAP in HCM City, the second regional conference on the NAP Rehabilitation was held on 24th April, 2015 in Hanoi, with participants from departments of health and rehabilitation hospitals in Northern and North Central provinces and persons with disabilities. 

Additionally, the project has been working with Binh Dinh, Thai Binh and Tay Ninh on developing provincial rehabilitation plans, which will be submitted to the local authorities for final approval and implementation.
