Expand the Livelihood Support for Persons with Disabilities Activity in Ca Mau province

Ca Mau, September 24, 2024 - VNAH provided cash grants to 50 individuals with disabilities in Ca Mau province to support their livelihood activities. Each recipient received a small, non-refundable cash grant ranging from $200 to $600 to help them start-up and expand their businesses. The cash grants will enable recipients to pursue self-employment opportunities, including operating food shops, grocery stores, tailor shops, producing handicrafts, and engaging in farming, livestock, aquaculture, or vending lottery tickets. Similar activities are currently underway in Tay Ninh province, where 45 individuals with disabilities are receiving cash grants to support their livelihoods.

These grants are part of the USAID-funded DIRECT project, which aims to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities in Vietnam. The project is being implemented by VNAH in partnership with the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA), Life is Beautiful/DRD disability-related social enterprise, Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin (VAVA), and Associations for Supports the Disabled and Orphan.

Mở rộng hỗ trợ sinh kế cho người khuyết tật tại Cà Mau

Cà Mau, ngày 24 tháng 09 năm 2024 - Hội Trợ giúp người khuyết tật Việt Nam (VNAH) đã tổ chức buổi lễ trao vốn hỗ trợ hoạt động sinh kế cho người khuyết tật trên địa bàn tỉnh Cà Mau. Chương trình đã trao vốn sinh kế cho 50 người hưởng lợi, trong đó mỗi trường hợp nhận được khoản hỗ trợ tiền mặt từ 3 triệu đến 15 triệu đồng, nhằm phát triển sinh kế, tự tạo việc làm, khởi nghiệp và kinh doanh nhỏ như mở cửa hàng thực phẩm, cửa hàng tạp hóa, tiệm may quần áo, sản xuất hàng thủ công, hoặc nông nghệp, trồng trọt, chăn nuôi gia cầm, thủy sản và bán vé số. Các hoạt động tương tự hiện đang được thực hiện tại tỉnh Tây Ninh với 45 người khuyết tật nhận cấp vốn hỗ trợ sinh kế từ dự án.

Hoạt động hỗ trợ cấp vốn sinh kế là một phần của dự án "Thực thi Chính sách và Trị liệu cho người khuyết tật" (DIRECT) do Cơ quan Phát triển Quốc tế Hoa Kỳ (USAID) tài trợ và VNAH thực hiện phối hợp với Sở Lao động – Thương binh và Xã hội tỉnh, các tổ chức, doanh nghiệp xã hội liên quan đến người khuyết tật DRD, Hội Bảo trợ Người tàn tật và Trẻ mồ côi, Hội Nạn nhân chất độc da cam dioxin/Việt Nam (VAVA).
